Learning About Ourselves

Self- Love is one part of the 6 Elements of Social Justice.  Over the past month, students have been learning more about their culture and sharing their discoveries with the school.  The Paper Butterfly 
activity taught the students about the important invention of paper, the significance of butterflies, and the importance of the colour red to Chinese culture.


Solving Fraction Problems

The students have been building their knowledge of fractions and how they are related to each other.  This student uses fraction pieces to discover equivalent fractions.

Data Management-Collecting Data

Today, students were asked to predict if there were more male or female students at our school. Afterwards, students performed an observational survey around the school. After tallying the results, students were asked why they think there are more female than male students.  It made for a very interesting discussion...

Writing to a Pen Pal

Students in Grade 4 have been writing to their Pen Pal since September.  They are always excited to give and receive letters!
